Sri Lanka which is called the Pearl of the Indian ocean is a tiny tear drop shaped island in the Indian Ocean. The Ocean surrounding Sri Lanka is abundant of various resources. These vary from ecosystems such as coral reefs, sea grass beds and mangroves, to edible fishes and other species. The ornamental fish trade in Sri Lanka has come a long way over the last 75 years of its existence to develop into a valuable foreign exchange earner for Sri Lanka. Ornamental fish are exported to over 25 countries, mostly “developed”. These include USA, Japan, United Kingdom, Holland, Germany, Singapore and Hong Kong. The consignments that reach Singapore, Hong Kong and Holland are mostly re-exported to other “western “countries. Exports have shown an increasing trend over the last two to three years, particularly since prices have become more competitive. Over 25 major exporters are now involved in the trade. The base material for this trade is the rich tropical biological diversity that Sri Lanka enjoys, which seems to be imperiled by aquarium-trade related activities and other ill-planned short-term developmental activities.

SAKURA AQUARIUM is one of the Marine fishes & Inverts exporter from Sri Lanka. Our Company established since 2001. We have our office and factory in Thoduwawa, North Westen Province. Start as a small supplier in Thoduwawa Sri Lanka. Because of high demand of our customers, we decided to create our own packing Center in Thoduwawa in 2008. Our 4000 Sqm Farm is conveniently located in Thoduwawa. Our location 45minutes  from the International Airport in Colombo in Sri Lanka.

Our facilities located at the homebase of the Majority divers of Sri Lanka's tropical marine fishes & inverts. This give us the best advantages on items collected for our high demand orders from our customers. We have a lot of suppliers from all around the island, that's why we have different type of fishes, & inverts. Sakura Aquarium strives minimize any impact on the environment, by providing top quality live stock, first class technological advanced equipment with staffs, suppliers, divers who have passed series of training of catching and handling marine fishes under MAC trainer supervision and standards. Exactly our staffs have experience in best quality to fulfill international standard.
